Virginia E DiMaio

Virginia E. DiMaio (NEE: Liberatore) of Milleville, DE, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jean, as she was called by all who knew her well, was 85 years old. Born and raised in Bristol, PA, she has been a resident of Milleville for the past 18 years. Jean loved to cut and style hair and was a featured beautician at Pomeroy’s until she left to start a family. After raising her children, Jean became a teacher’s aide at the now Snyder-Girotti Elementary School, where she was thrilled to spend her day working with children. Jean enjoyed practicing her Italian traits while cooking many wonderful dinners for her family and friends. Jean made everyone feel comfortable in her home as though you were part of her family. Jean is preceded in death by her parents Donato and Bambina Liberatore (Lattanzi), along with siblings; Michael Liberatore and his wife Margaret, Josephine Huber and her twin brothers Daniel and Louis Liberatore. Jean will be greatly missed by her loving husband Anthony DiMaio of 60 years, her children; Vita Thorpe and husband Jeffrey, Josephine Cleary and husband James, Louis DiMaio and wife Dawn, and Gina DiMaio and husband Michael Harrop. Jean was also blessed with four grandchildren; James, Justin, Tyler and Ciarra who will miss her dearly. She will also be greatly missed by her brother-in-law Kenneth Huber, many nieces and nephews, and her loving caretakers; Esmeralda and Marlee-Jo. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday evening, March 20, 2019 from 7 – 9 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007 and Thursday morning, March 21, 2019 from 10 - 11 am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007.  Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow at St Mark Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
