Thomas E Sturkey

Thomas E. Sturkey of Bristol, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Legacy Gardens surrounded by his loving family.  He was 85.  Born in Surry County and raised in Hopewell, VA, he has been a resident of the Bristol area for the past 58 years.  He was a former supervisor and textile mechanic for Barringer Knitting Mills and following his career there he became the owner and operator of Fairmount Sportswear Inc.  Tom was an avid pinnacle player, golfer, bowler, and fisherman but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Maggie Sturkey, his son Vincent, great, great grandson Dakoda and his eight brothers and two sisters.  Tom will be greatly missed by his loving wife Barbara of 66 years, his children Tom (Cindy), David (Kimberly), Debbie (Dave), Donna (Ted), Denise (Lou), Carol (Marty) and Michelle (Chris), his 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  He will also be greatly missed by his brother Frank Sturkey and his wife Shelva, his nephew Charles Sturkey and wife Sherry along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, June 17, 2022, from 12 – 1 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.  Funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
