Sylvia C. Novak passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was 88. Sylvia was born and raised in Nanticoke, PA, where she met and married the love of her life, Edward Novak. After marrying, they moved to Levittown where they had resided for the past 63 years.
She enjoyed a long career working in broadcast media as an Office Director/Administrator first at a television station in Philadelphia, then in radio at WBCB in Levittown. She changed pace in later years to work in the pharmaceutical industry eventually retiring from Bristol-Myers Squibb Corporation as an Executive Assistant. She remained an active member of the community working the voting poles during elections, most recently serving as Inspector of Elections.
Sylvia was a beautiful and caring woman, proud of her daughter, and especially proud of her beloved grandchildren. She delighted in travel and good conversation and touched many lives making lasting friendships over the years. She will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends. But her loved ones will also celebrate the many happy years that we had with her and cherish those joyful memories always.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Daryl Goodrow and husband, Brian; her grandchildren Ryan Goodrow and Alexa Goodrow; her niece, Sharon Hinds, and husband Rodney; and her brother, Mark Cecelski, and wife Irene. Her beloved husband, Edward, predeceased her in July.
A visitation service will be held at Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown, PA on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. She will be interred at 1:00 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation to your favorite charity be made in Sylvia’s name.
