Sharon A Vaida

Sharon Skelston Vaida, 77 of Levittown, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at St Mary Medical Center with her husband and children by her side.

Sharon was born on December 19, 1945, to Robert and Margaret Skelston.  Raised in Scranton, PA, she graduated from South Scranton Catholic High School in 1963 and went on to obtain her nursing license from Mercidian School of Nursing.

Sharon is preceded in death by her brother Robert Skelston and sister-in-law Peggy Skelston. Sharon was the loving and devoted wife of Frank Vaida for 57 years.  She leaves behind three children Frank (Lisa) Vaida, Kevin (Jenn) Vaida and Sherry (Bob) Mitchell and 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Catey, Nate, Connor, Justin, and Julia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted Catholic and member of Queen of the Universe Parish.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, trips to the casino and volunteering at Mary’s Cupboard and Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need.

Sharon was a caring and empathetic nurse, working most of her career at Statesman Nursing Home and Morrisville Presbyterian Towers.  She always put others before herself, she was compassionate, kind, gentle, generous and patient.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am.  

Interment will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA 18940. Please arrive at 9:15 am so that interment can take place at 9:30 am, due to cemetery restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sharon’s honor to Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need (AHTN).
