Sallie Emerson Reitemeyer

February 9, 1940 — October 30, 2017

Sylvia (Sallie) Larsen Emerson Reitemeyer of Falls Township, PA (previously Manville, NJ) passed away after a brave struggle with cancer on October 30 in her 77th year.  Her devoted husband, Thomas, whom she met at Colorado College while he was serving in the Army, will miss her terribly.  She is also survived by her three loving children, William, Thomas, and Margaret; daughter-in-law, Michelle; and seven grandchildren, Fritz, Billy, Katie, Jenny, Peter, Mary, and George.  She was a graduate of Upper Merion HS '58 and Colorado College '63.  Her long and varied career brought her to St. Paul’s Church of Princeton, Princeton University, Loyalty Life, Goebel, and Convatec (BMS), She also volunteered for Girls Scouts of America, workplace blood drives, Habitat for Humanity, and most recently Aid for Friends charity. Sallie was passionate about decorative and folk art painting, miniatures, knitting, and assorted crafts that she generously shared with her family.  Her optimism, iron strength, and thoughtfulness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.  Her steadfast defense of fairness and righteousness will always be remembered.  During her arduous struggle against cancer she never complained, lashed out, or asked “Why me?”  She carried herself with fortitude, dignity, and unshakable faith in our Lord.  Our hearts are broken, but we will try to go forth as she would have done. Viewing is at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057 on Monday, November 6, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.  Funeral Mass is at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 201 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067 on Tuesday, November 7 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Ln, Trenton, NJ 08610.   If you wish to send flowers, they can be sent directly to the funeral home.  Donations in her honor can be made to Aid for Friends (aidforfriends.org), which was the charity that Sallie volunteered with most recently.
