Ronald Kenneth Raudenbush

March 23, 1945 — December 13, 2024

Ronald Kenneth Raudenbush, 79 of Croydon Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family in his home. We will forever miss his loving smile and the way he made each one of us feel special.

“Ronnie” was born the youngest of four children to Barbara (Freimiller), and George Raudenbush on March 23, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA. He nearly graduated from Lincoln High School in ‘63– leaving in his 12th year to help support his family following an accident that left his father disabled. As a young man, he married in ‘66 and embarked on a journey of learned trades. In his early tradesman years, he was a chef; then a printer – each adding to his willingness to create and try new things. He loved working with his hands, and it was through this passion and his attention to detail and finishing that gave way to his craft of carpentry and renovation design. He was self-taught and a self-made business owner who worked with several partners along the way, including his son-in-law Dave until his retirement. He was known for his artistry and craftsmanship - his work spoke for itself. Ron was the ultimate tinkerer… always fixing or re-engineering some piece of equipment in his favorite space – the garage, all the while maintaining other pursuits such as working on his house and yard, stained glass design and bowling. His journey to explore new paths no doubt has him exploring Heaven now, hammer and tools in-hand.

His ultimate love was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – he was never more than a step or call away, always there to lend a hand, provide encouragement or give guidance, or simply just wrap you in a hug when needed.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters Delores and Barbara and brother George Jr. He is survived and will be missed by his entire family including his ex-wife, Diana (Di Nardo) Raudenbush and their four daughters: Dawn Marie Kunz and husband Dave, Veronica Higgins and husband John, Diana Stepp and husband Eddie, Christina Raudenbush and partner William Hanson; his loving grandchildren: Johnny, Erin, Michael, Matt, William, Christopher, Hailey, Allissa, David, Isabel and Eli, and great-grandchildren: Chase, Logan, Hudson, Troy, Adelynn, Ruby, Elliana and Weston.

While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a friend and a loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and wit, and even a glorious pain in the neck to a select few (however once marked as important, he'd be “by-your-side” as needed no questions asked). There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest role - he was also a true friend, a man of his word, a father figure and voice of reason, a carpenter, an artist, a bowler, a great whistler, and good dancer… the list goes on.

Ron was a deeply beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His passing came after nine heart-breaking years of gradual loss. We are comforted knowing that our dad is reunited with his family and has full awareness of the joy that enfolds him in the Kingdom of our Lord. We know he is resting peacefully now in God’s loving arms. Perhaps he is sitting on a porch, drinking a cup of tea, visiting with loved ones, and watching over us - our guardian angel.

We invite you all to share pictures or memories. It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce, and smile together during this time.

Ronald's legacy will be commemorated during several events held in his honor.
