Nancy Patterson

Nancy (Nunzia) Patterson of Marlton NJ, formerly of Bucks County in PA, passed away on Friday July 12, 2019 at 96 ½ years of age. She was born on January 4, 1923 in Naples, Italy.

Nancy married the late U.S. Army Veteran Harold J. Patterson on August 29, 1945 in Naples, Italy where Harold was deployed during World War II.  Nancy was widowed on September 6, 1987.

After their wedding, Nancy immigrated to the United States where she became a U.S. citizen. She and Harold built their own home in Croydon PA where they raised their two sons Harold J. and John A.

Nancy’s late parents were Antonio Moscato and Maria Caucci Moscato of Naples.  Nancy was also predeceased by two brothers Joseph and Armando, and a sister Pasqualina, also of Naples Italy.

Nancy is survived by her two sons and their wives Harold J/Helen and John A/Evelyne of PA.  In Italy, she is survived by a sister Elena of Naples, and a brother Enzo/Monika of Rome.  Nancy has several nieces and nephews in Italy. In the U.S. she has eight grandchildren (Lisa/Patrick, Sandy/Marty, Doug, Frank/Mary, Joe/Sharon, Angelique/Tony, Brian/Jill, Jeff/Ally) and many great-grandchildren.

Nancy was originally employed as a seamstress.  She knitted and crocheted many wonderful garments and blankets for family and friends. She also worked in manufacturing.  Nancy was an accomplished cook, well known for her scrumptious meatballs and sauce.  She also loved to bake.  Her almond biscottis, Easter bread and rice cakes were the delight of family and friends. Nancy enjoyed traditional Neapolitan folk songs and she sang them often with loved ones.

Nancy’s final resting place will be at the side of her late husband in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Hamilton NJ. A Memorial Mass and a celebration of life are being planned for Nancy. Family and friends will be provided with details as arrangements are completed.
