Michael G Wijtyk

Michael G. Wijtyk, 66 of Bristol Borough, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.   Michael was born on October 6, 1955, to the late George and Irene Wijtyk who were immigrants from Ukraine.  He was nicknamed ‘Mish” by his parents and belovingly referred to by his Ukrainian nickname by all who knew and loved him. He graduated from Bristol High School in 1973.  Mish worked many jobs over the years, but among his favorite memories were the times working at the Bristol Borough School District and Mill Run Nursing Home.

Mish was loved and adored by everyone he met.  Despite his juvenile arthritis, Mish was always optimistic and brought joy to everyone who knew him.  His warm smile, generous heart, and bright spirit were contagious.  He enjoyed fishing and playing baseball and soccer as a young boy, but he will always be remembered as the life of the party on Cleveland Street.  Mish loved 93.3 WMMR and Phil Collins and somehow managed to have great luck with lottery tickets.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife of over 20 years, Minette Llnicki.  Mish will be sadly missed and remembered by his cherished son, Paul who devoted his life to taking care of his father.  Mish is survived by his sister Cathy Piraino (Jack) and brothers Stephen Wijtyk (Betty) and John Wijtyk (Patty) and many brother and sister in laws.  He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews who relied on his caring nature and appreciated his sense of humor.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 10 - 11 am at St Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007.  Funeral mass will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, please do something kind today to bring a smile to someone’s face.  Make someone laugh and lend a patient ear and think of Mish.
