Matthew F Hankinson

Matthew Hankinson aka Matteo/Matthew Francis/Hank/Hanky/Matty Hanks lived ONLY 26 years before an accidental overdose snatched him from all of us.

Matthew was born in Lower Bucks Hospital and spent 18 years growing up with his family in Levittown. He went to Disney Elementary, Pennwood Middle School and graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2014.

Matt struggled for  many years with the disease of addiction and tried over and over to fight off the demons that haunted him constantly. His loving family and friends will forever miss his creative, smart, talented, wildly charming, goofy, musical heart and soul. He has touched so many in such a short life.

Matthew lived with his Father in Bristol before spending several years in and out of rehabs where we finally found Genesis in FL and Surfside Recovery in Ventnor NJ. He settled into an apartment to be surrounded by his "boys" from Surfside after graduating from the program. He had an amazing group of friends and girlfriend, McKayla Miller, who he loved with all his heart. The system in place is not enough for our children and he slipped and was destroyed. He is survived by his Mother, Celeste Hankinson (Kenny), Father, Alan Hankinson (Gina), Sister, Julianna Hankinson (Maddie), Mom mom, Madeline Walsh, Grandparents, Elsie & Jim Hankinson, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. His death is only preceded by his Pop pop, Francis Walsh and his Golden Retriever, Honey. We are broken into a million pieces.

We welcome you to come share great memories and how he may have touched you in a "come as you are" gathering on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 12 - 4 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.   The last hour will be open for anyone who wishes to share a moment, a laugh, a story or just a kind word with us. We would love to hear!
