Maryann A Lorenzo

January 9, 1948 — February 11, 2019

Maryann A. Lorenzo (nee: Ferraro) of Bristol, PA entered the Kingdom of God on February 11, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.  She was 71.  Born and raised on Lafayette St in Bristol Borough, Maryann was a cornerstone of the 400 block where she spent a huge majority of her 71 years.  She attended St. Ann Catholic School and was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Conwell. Maryann was truly a loving and caring individual who cherished her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and sister.  As a lifelong parishioner of St. Ann Church, she contributed her time and efforts in various roles to “give back” to her fellow Bristolians and the parishioners of good St. Ann.  She was an “original” and enthusiastic St. Ann Carnival volunteer where for years she greeted people with smiles and Italian song as they approached the pizza fritta stand.   Maryann also paid her reverence to God as a weekly singer in the St. Ann Choir, and she was formerly a member of the St. Ann Bingo crew where she worked to raise money which subsidized catholic education.  Maryann’s personality and passion for life and those around her was ultimately displayed in her home on Lafayette Street.  Over her 71 years, there is an infinite amount of stories that begin and end with numerous laughs around her dinner table.  Daily family dinners, holiday baking and preparing late night snacks for those on Lafayette Street were the true joys of Maryann.  She really loved everything about Thanksgiving as it defined what it meant to spend time with family and friends.  Some of the best times she ever spent in her life was visiting her brother, Monsignor Joseph A. Ferraro (Captain, USN-ret), who served the United States on various continents as a Naval Chaplain.  Over her 71 years, Maryann had two real salvations in her life. Her dedicated husband of nearly 50 years, Gary Sr. and her one only son, Gary Jr.  Over the last 2+ years no father and son could have shown more devotion, love and commitment as a day did not go by where they didn’t take time to go see their dear mother and wife as she battled through an unfortunate illness.  She is preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Mary Ferraro and will be greatly missed by many dear cousins, close friends and neighbors. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday evening, February 15, 2019 from 7 – 9 pm and Saturday morning, February 16, 9 – 10 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007.  Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
