Maryann Elizabeth DeSumma

August 4, 1949 — January 4, 2025

Maryann Elizabeth DeSumma, was born on August 4, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Maryann dedicated her life to her family and community. As a devoted homemaker, she created a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. In addition to her role at home, she served as a lunch aide at Bishop Conwell, where she touched the lives of many children with her kindness and dedication. She was a longtime parishioner of St Michael the Archangel Church in Levittown, PA.

Maryann is remembered fondly by her two children Gary Bennett (Erika) and daughter Christine DeSumma (Don and Justin), her beloved grandchildren, Michael (Quinn), Sabrina (Kyle), Courtney (Zachary), and Kole each of whom she loved, and one great grandson Nolan. In her spirit, Maryann is also survived by her siblings: Bernadette Worrell and Kathy MacPhee (Malcolm), brother in laws Robert DeSumma (Ann), and Barry DeSumma (Donna), sister in laws Ann Armstrong and Cathy Brown (Andy), especially her dearest friends Sue and Lisa, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who fondly reminisce about her life and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Frank; her parents, Charles and Agnes (Costello) Armstrong; and her in-laws, Albert and Violet DeSumma, siblings Charlie Armstrong (Judy), Joan Bello, Denise Armstrong, Thomas Armstrong, Eddie Armstrong, brother-in-law Bill Worrell. Their memories remain entwined with hers as the family grieves her passing but celebrates a life well-lived.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewings at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. Following the viewing on the 17th, a service will take place at 11:15 AM. The burial will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, commencing at 1:00 PM.

Maryann’s legacy of love, kindness, and commitment to family will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
