Maguerite DiNunzio, 92, formerly of Bristol, Pennsylvania, and Sarasota, Florida, was returned to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from Heron East Retirement Home in Sarasota, Florida.
Marguerite was born on October 23, 1928 to Anthony and Mary Minni DiNunzio. She was born into a large loving Italian Family. She was surrounded by many other families including those from her father’s hometown of Roccavivara, Italy, and her mother’s hometown of Montefalcone, Italy.
Marguerite was educated in Bristol Borough Schools. During her preteen and teen years, she learned the domestic home skills from her mother and other close-by relatives.
Marguerite spent many years working in financial institutions in Bristol and the Trenton, New Jersey region. She also enjoyed working with ceramics which resulted in beautiful pieces given away as gifts or for home decoration or for daily use. Reading fiction and non-fiction was a favorite pastime from an early age through her retirement years.
Beginning as a child through adulthood, she was a faithful participant and leader in the churches she attended, namely the Presbyterian Church of Our Savior in Bristol and the Bristol Presbyterian Church, followed by The Church of the Palms, (Presbyterian) in Sarasota, Florida. She enjoyed singing with many church choirs.
For Marguerite, family was very important. Interacting with children of family brought great joy to her and the children. Marguerite enjoyed traveling to Europe and many distant locations in the United States, visiting family members and historic sites. Spending valuable time at the summer home in Ocean City, New Jersey, provided more time for family and friends.
In 1993 she moved to Sarasota, Florida, with her brother, Michael to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. She returned to Bristol on many occasions to attend family weddings and other milestone events. Following, Michael’s death in 2018, she moved to Heron East Assisted Living Home in Sarasota where she succumbed of natural cause on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
Marguerite is survived by three brothers, Dr. Dominick (Helen), Dr. Lewis (Joann), Dr. John (Constance) DiNunzio. Additionally, Uncle Dominick Minni, many cousins, grand nephews and nieces and great grand nephews and nieces.
Marguerite will be buried in the family plot beside her parents and paternal grandmother in the Bristol Cemetery, Bristol, Pennsylvania.
Family and friends are invited to Marguerite's Graveside service, 1 pm Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Bristol Cemetery, Rt 13, Croydon, PA 19021.
Memorial contributions in Marguerite’s name may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude Hospital or an organization of one’s choice.
