Luis Rivera-Montalvo

Luis Rivera-Montalvo (86) of Bristol, PA passed away peacefully in his home while on hospice and surrounded by his immediate family on Sunday, December 29th, 2024. Luis was born on August 10th, 1938 to Juan Rivera & Filomena Montalvo and raised in Arecivo, Puerto Rico. He was married to his wife Santa Rosa Rivera (Acevedo). Luis moved his family to Bristol, PA in the 1960’s where he worked as a labor hand until he became disabled and spent his life taking care of his wife and children. Luis was a happy, kind and gentle soul who loved spending time with family and friends, playing dominoes, reminiscing about the past, telling stories and laughing over jokes while drinking coffee. He loved his family with all his heart and would bless everyone he came in contact with. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, his son Zenor (Tito) Rivera and 8 siblings; Ernesto, Emiliano, Confesor, Jose, Juan, Otilia, Maria & Anna. He is survived by his daughter Luz Maria (Tita) Sarria, his son-in-law, Pedro Sarria, his immediate grandchildren, Danny Sarria (Jillian) and Jennifer Acconzo (Thomas), his immediate great-grandchildren Ava, Dylan, Jaxon & Luna, as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister Maria Luisa and many other family members including a plethora of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. To know him was to love him. 

Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday January 11th, 2025 from 10-11 am at St Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Funeral mass will begin at 11 am. Interment is private under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
