Lois Ann Clarke

Lois Ann Clarke (nee Shaw) of Levittown, PA passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born in Burlington, NJ, spent most of her childhood in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and lived in Levittown, PA for over 50 years. Lois graduated from Meyers High School in 1949 and later attended Wilkes College where she made history as the first contestant to be crowned for her outstanding beauty two years in a row. She had an appreciation for literature and education. Her studies led her to pursue a career in teaching through which she was able to educate students in both her kindergarten classroom as well as Sunday School. She enjoyed creating memories with her children and grandchildren from baking to board games.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Matthew and Frances Shaw (nee Hawkey), her husband of 57 years, John “Jack” Clarke, and her daughter Debby Clarke. She is survived by her sister, Fay Clymer, her son Ron Clarke and daughter-in-law, Liz, her daughter Pam Cashin (nee Clarke) and son-in-law, Tom, her grandchildren, Leanne Pereda (Cesar), Sara Walker (Scott), Kimberly Lovina (Anthony), Ashley Mesveskas (Jim), step granddaughter, Katie Caddy (Matthew), and her great grandchildren Greyson, Ella, Mia, Clarke, Nolan, Addison and Cooper. She will also be greatly missed by Ruth Clarke and Debbie Townsend. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who cared for Lois from Birches of Newtown and Gentiva Hospice.   

Lois requested that we respect her wishes to have a private ceremony for the family. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
