June B Hartz

December 25, 1930 — September 9, 2021

June Betty Hartz of Levittown, PA passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was a youthful 90 years old. June was a loved, wonderful woman who brought comfort and light into the lives of all that she encountered. She lived a full life and will be missed and always cherished by those who knew her.

June was born on December 25, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA. She spent her childhood in Norristown, PA until moving to Levittown, PA where she resided for almost 70 years. During her time in Levittown, she spent numerous hours lovingly tending to her yard, feeding the birds, and greeting neighbors with a friendly hello.

June spent her career working in administration in a variety of organizations where she eventually retired at the age of 70. Outside of work she maintained an abundance of interests.

June was a lifelong and accomplished bowler. She was a constant presence at the Levittown Lanes and a long-time member and treasurer of the First Presbyterian Ladies League.

June was supporter of all Philadelphia sport teams, but most especially she was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. June was well known for her green thumb. Her dedication and passion for gardening was second to none. She thoroughly enjoyed spending her time creating and curating a beautifully landscaped floral garden throughout her life.

June was committed to maintaining her health and fitness. Her favorite activities over the years included playing tennis, going to water aerobics and exercise classes with friends, and getting her steps in taking long walks around the neighborhood. She took pride in her appearance and was always up on the latest beauty and wellness trends.

June’s social calendar was continuously full, as her friendships and community were a priority in her life. She sustained a strong bond with her close circle of friends; spending time playing cards (mostly pinochle), celebrating milestones together, and enjoying each other’s company over countless meals.

Her home was often full with family, friends, and occasionally a dog or two. She could regularly be found doing a crossword puzzle while drinking coffee, reading a good book, or catching the latest episode of Wheel of Fortune. She relished in the time she spent with family, particularly over the holidays and during the summers at the Jersey shore.

Her light may be extinguished but it will live on in all of those who were lucky enough to see her shine.

June is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Jimmy Hartz; her grandson, Ryan Stout; and her mother, Ella Mae Hobson.

June will be fondly remembered by her sister Doris Knous; three children Sandy Heck (Bill), Susan Socoloski (Greg), and Jay Hartz (Michelle); four grandchildren Tiffany Stout (Beth), Matthew Bartow (Jenna), Justin Hartz, and Samantha Hartz; and one great-grandson Bryce Bartow.
