John Vito Salvia

September 9, 1927 — November 6, 2017

John Vito Salvia passed away peacefully at Oaks of Bensalem, PA on Monday, November 6, 2017.  He was 90 years old. Born in Philadelphia and a lifelong resident of Upper Southampton, PA.  He served his country in World War II where he learned his trade as a printer.  John worked at Paramount Packaging for 30 years, followed by 18 years at Nabisco.  He was a loving and giving man and was very dedicated to his family.  His passion was building and remodeling, dining out, going to the casino, playing cards and watching Philadelphia sports teams.  John also enjoyed cooking, and especially making great pizza. He was the son of Antonio and Mary Salvia (nee Pisacano). He is preceded in death by his grandson Nicholas A. Kowal and his brothers George, Felix, William, Joseph, Albert and brother-in-law John Pernesi. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Theresa of 66 years, his children, Robert Salvia and his wife Toni, Stephen Salvia and his wife Eileen, Dee Kowal and her husband Nicholas, his grandchildren, Lisa Slipp (Kieren), Michael Salvia (Colleen), Christina Kowal (fiancé Andrew), Shawn Salvia, Jacquelyn Salvia, and his great grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Slipp, Ava and Maddalena Salvia, and his sister Angelina Pernesi and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 10 - 11:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton, PA 18966. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 am.
