John Rago

John R. Rago, 93, of Bristol, PA, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at St. Mary Medical Center after a brief but critical illness. Born in 1932, John was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Frances (Morici) Rago.

A Bristol High School graduate, John proudly served four years in the Air Force, including overseas duty during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he embarked on a 35+ year career as a welder and mechanic at Rohm and Haas Co.

John was married twice in his lifetime. His second marriage to Claire Geppert Buckley lasted 33 years until her passing in 2011. In recent years, John was also blessed to have a close friend in Martha Ryan.

In retirement, John devoted himself to taking care of his home, travel and his passion for golf. A longtime member of Middletown Country Club in Langhorne, PA, he later worked there as a starter and course ranger. John continued to play regularly and impressively until his recent illness - many times shooting his age or better.

John is survived by his son, James Rago (Uni); granddaughters Jessica Rago and Janice (Nick) Carse; and great-grandson Felix James Carse.

He also leaves behind his stepsons, James Buckley (Vicki) and Russell Buckley (Caroline); granddaughter Samantha Buckley; grandsons Joseph Buckley (Mikaela Mendizabel), Russell Bateman-Buckley (Carrie Bateman), and Colin Buckley (Melanie Glenn); great-grandson Nolan Bateman Buckley; and great-granddaughter Summer Buckley.

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, March 28, 2025, from 10 - 11 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol - Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow at Bristol Cemetery.
