John F. Quinto, Jr.

April 23, 1959 — September 15, 2024

John Francis Quinto, Jr. of Levittown, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

John was preceded in death by his parents John F. Quinto Sr. and Jean E. Quinto. He is survived by his devoted sister Diane Anderson (Vincent Anderson) and brother Anthony Quinto (Jill Quinto). His inquisitive spirit will be deeply missed by his son John T. Quinto, fiancé Cecilia Milinichik, and stepdaughters Nicole Bloch (Mike Bloch) and Jessica Milinichik. Loving Poppy to grandson Cooper Bloch and uncle to Anna Jean Quinto.

A perpetual student of learning and life, John graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 1977. He obtained a BA in Communications from Temple University, MA in Theology from Villanova, a paralegal degree and completed numerous continuing education courses.

Combining his love of literature and sports, he initially aspired to become a sportswriter. As a profound “people-person” though, John found his true calling, in the last 30+ years he spent advocating for, teaching, and mentoring court reporters and students in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

To really know John was to be asked a multitude of questions at any given time about any given subject. John’s thirst for knowledge and love for people truly showed in every interaction. He possessed the ability to always retort with a witty joke or find the perfect meme or comic strip. As a music savant, he often quoted applicable lyrics from songs in his vast CD music library. There were no “one hit wonders” with John, he always insisted on buying the full CD to support and understand the artist.

John loved all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles. He was a walking encyclopedia of both college and pro sports knowledge and statistics.

John loved his family and friends fiercely and often served as both protector and cheerleader to all whom he cared about. He smiled from his whole heart. His family will always celebrate him with a crunchy piece of bread, a bet on a game, and always ask themselves, “what would John do?”

Per John’s wishes, funeral services and internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, and because of John’s love for trees, the family requests a tree be planted in his name or that donations be made to one of the groups he supported:
