John J. McCarthy III, 47, of Bensalem, formerly of Levittown, PA and Aspers, PA.  Died on Saturday August 21, 2021, at Lower Bucks Hospital.

Born May 2, 1974 in Nazareth Hospital Phila, he was the son of John J. McCarthy Jr. of Fairless Hills and the late Marie Fanning McCarthy Abell. John was predeceased by his son Joshua J. Rexroth of Fairfield, PA.

John “Goose” was married to Colleen E. McCarthy (McCallum) of Levittown. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 8-year-old daughter Allie McCarthy – his Princess; and 3 bonus children of Levittown, 2 grandchildren, Lettie Nicole, and Jaxson Edward and 2 grand dogs – Moo and Dixie!

John is also survived by 4 sisters, Dawn Neidel (Kevin), Coleen Ligato (Joe), Erin Crouse (Tom) and Krista Abell; and his brother Kevin McCarthy, and his crazy loving niece and nephews that he adored – DJ, Evan, Elizabeth (Ladybug), Kyle, and Joseph. He was predeceased by his brother Jesse Abell.

John was raised in Levittown, PA, graduated from Harry S Truman High School in 1992 and headed to Aspers, PA. He attended HACC for Fire Safety. John was a 20+ year member of the Aspers Fire Company, serving in all positions from Fire Lieutenant to Fire Chief. He was also a member of the Aspers Volunteer Ambulance Company where he served as a driver and Emergency Responder. When not volunteering he was a carpenter and roofer.  He loved building things and working with his hands.

John was a huge EAGLES, Phillies, and Flyer’s fan. He wore his jerseys proudly!!!! He loved to BBQ and BBQ chicken was his favorite thing to make for his Princess Allie.  He loved camping, swimming, fishing, hunting (in his youth), playing board games, country music and making slime with Allie.  He had a laugh that made you smile! John will be missed by so many – his Princess will miss playing Roblox and Minecraft with him, watching silly cop TV shows, showing him what she learned at gymnastics, and we will all miss his amazing hugs!

He is enjoying all the Tasty cakes, Cokes and Coors Lights he wants! Goose, share them with our boy Joshua! We ALL Loved you Much!!!!

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank, in Allie McCarthy’s name and the family respectfully requests that any donations be made to it.  You can mail donations to 63 Shelter Lane Levittown PA 19055.
