John Hemp

John H. Hemp, a beloved member of his community, passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 22, 1935, in Bristol, PA, John lived a life characterized by love, devotion, and service. He proudly served in the Marine Corps, showcasing a commitment to his country that reflected his strong values.

Throughout his life, John was a devoted and lifelong parishioner of St Ann Church. His faith was central to his existence, guiding him in his interactions with others and providing him with a sense of purpose. John was also a lifelong member of the Third District Fire Company in Bristol, PA. He was deeply respected within his community and was known for his kindness and generosity.

John is survived by his two daughters, Rosemarie Hemp Alston and Christine Keiser (Jeff). He is also remembered fondly by his brothers-in-law, Joseph DeFranco (Anna) and Michael DeFranco (Jean), sister-in-law Alice DeFranco, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom carry forward his legacy of compassion and family values.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Rose Hemp (nee DeFranco), and his parents, John and Mildred Hemp, father and mother in law Donato and Maria Rose De Franco, brothers and sister in laws Antonio, Mary, Fabio, Pompeii, Margaret DeFranco Their memories continue to inspire and guide those who knew and loved them.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life at St Ann Church, located at 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, with burial services commencing at 1:30 PM.

John's life was a testament to the virtues of faith, family, and service. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
