John J Gress, Jr.

John (Jack) Gress, Jr. of Bristol, PA passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 67, at Manor Care Healthcare Center in Yardley, PA. He resided in Manor Care for many years after suffering a debilitating stroke.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA to John Gress Sr. and Anna Gress (Kiernan). He attended George Washington High School in Philadelphia and graduated in 1974. He then went on to attend Philadelphia Textiles and received a bachelor’s degree in business and onto Drexel University to receive his master’s in business.  John was employed at one time with the Trenton Times, Trenton, NJ as a Circulation Manager for over 20 years. He then went on to work with The Bucks County Courier Times.  John was an Eagle Scout and a Scoutmaster for Troop 130 in Bensalem, PA. 

John is preceded in death by his father John Gress Sr, paternal grandparents Charles and Marie Gress and maternal grandparents Patrick and Nora Kiernan.

John is survived by his mother, Anna Gress (Kiernan) of Bensalem, PA, two brothers Stephen Gress (Robbin) of Feasterville, PA, and Kevin Gress (Audrey) of Bristol, PA. Three nephews, Kevin Gress, Jr. of Bristol PA, Nicholas Gress of Bristol, PA, Connor Gress of Pottstown, PA and one niece Caitlyn Schlauer (Gress) of Horsham, PA, two great nieces and one great nephew.

Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, February 19, 2024, from 10 – 11 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol - Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Funeral Service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
