John T Gerhardt

John T Gerhardt, “Jack,” age 80 of Levittown, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Jack was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Father Judge High School in 1962. He spent two years in the U.S. Air Force, and then married the love of his life, Joan, in August 1967. Jack and Joan were married for 57 years and raised three children.  Jack worked as a machinist for De Laval and later Siemens De Laval for more than 30 years.  For several years, he had his own air conditioning and heating business. His generous nature and strong work ethic ensured a steady stream of customers.  

Jack was a do-it-yourself person, and was always installing, fixing, replacing things in the house and car. He often helped family and friends with their own projects. Jack loved the outdoors, especially the woods, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His outdoor adventures were as much about the experience with friends and family as they were about the hunting and fishing. He loved everything Philadelphia, including 6abc Action News, butter cake, and watching and routing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and Sixers.

Preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Bernadette, and brother, Frank. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, John, Christine Falk [Robert], and Cheryl Giberson [George]; grandchildren, Zachary [Kaitlyn], Tyler, and Olivia Giberson, Madeline, Evan, and Brian Falk; great-grandchildren, Carsen and Brysen Giberson; sister, Bernadette Coskey [Joesph]; brother, Thomas [Lisa]; sister-in-law, Patricia; brother-in-law, Joesph Hughes [Patricia]; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the St Mary’s Medical Center.  

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.   Funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m.   Interment is private under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
