Jean Roberts

December 7, 1946 — February 20, 2021

Jean Henry Roberts was born December 7, 1946, on the beautiful island of Trinidad, to the parents; Edom Walcott and Beryl Henry, both preceding her in death. Jean was the oldest daughter of the seven children.  Her siblings Christopher Henry, Norris (aka) Sam Henry, and Ann Marie Henry preceded her in death. Jean departed this life on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Jean’s childhood was filled with the laughter and joy of a loving home. She loved to sew her own clothes and was a friend to everyone. Jean graduated high school from St Angus Catholic School. She was a great student and avid reader.

Jean became a mother to her only child Wesley A. Henry in April 1966. This blessing of new life inspired her to look for new opportunities in the United States.

In 1968, she moved to Philadelphia with her Uncle Owen and Aunt Hattie. It wasn’t long before she found gainful employment with her exceptional seamstress skills at Small’s formal wear.

Hard work and determination to succeed opened the door for more opportunities. She took a position at Columbia Lighting and it wasn’t long before her work ethic and people skills were recognized.  She was a plant supervisor that helped light up the world for 25 years until retirement.

It was in Bristol, PA that God blessed Jean with the love of her life Curtis Roberts.  This gentle loving man from Grenada lived the promise and blessing of finding a good wife. They were married on October 23, 1981, and this union was blessed for 39 years until God called Jean home.

Jean loved the Lord and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Mount Hope in Trinidad that was founded by her uncle, Archbishop Kenneth Ash, who preceded her in death. She continued her worship in the United States at St Mark in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Jean and Curtis traveled back and forth between Trinidad and Grenada, keeping connected with family and friends there.

Jean was proud to be a cancer survivor and was a support to others during their battle. She will be missed by many for so many reasons, not to exclude her amazing cooking and her love for shopping. Jean made everyone she met feel loved. She always had a positive attitude and was an example of kindness. Jean heard the call of her Savior.

She leaves a saints’ legacy of love and memories for her devoted husband Curtis Roberts; loving son Wesley Henry & daughter-in-love MiaMichelle Henry (Peoria IL); Siblings; Janet Henry (Trinidad), Margaret Henry (Trinidad), Kenneth Henry (Trinidad), sister-in-love Veronica Henry (Petty), 5 grandchildren- Brhy Henry, Kiara Fleming, Malachi Henry, Maya Henry, Wesley Henry II; 5 Great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
