Jan Gordon Gheen, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, after a courageous and prolonged battle with cancer. Born the beloved eldest son of Jan and Martha Gheen of Kerrville, Texas (formerly of Williamsport PA), Jan touched countless lives with his kind heart, resourcefulness, and determination.
Jan's life was marked by his insatiable curiosity and hardworking spirit. After graduating from Williamsport Area Community College, he became a skilled electrician. In his thirties, his ambition and love for learning led him to enroll at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned an engineering degree and began a fulfilling career with the State of New Jersey. His ability to reinvent himself and embrace new challenges inspired all who knew him.
Upon his retirement, Jan pursued his lifelong passion for the great outdoors. As an avid fisherman, he found tranquility and joy at Lake Champlain in Vermont, where the waters became his haven. Jan's expertise in bass fishing saw him participating in Championship Bass Fishing Tournaments, where he earned not just cash prizes but also cherished memories and lifelong friendships.
Jan was a man of many talents. Among his friends and neighbors, he was affectionately regarded as a "jack of all trades" with an uncanny ability to fix just about anything. Whether it was lending a hand or sharing his wealth of knowledge, Jan's generosity and warmth knew no bounds.
Jan leaves behind a family who adored him deeply: his devoted parents, Jan and Martha, and his loving brothers, James of Kerrville, Texas, and Gregory of Henderson, Nevada. His legacy of resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for life will continue to live on in their hearts and in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The services to honor Jan's life will be private and managed with care by Galzerano Funeral Home.
While Jan is no longer with us, his spirit endures in the beauty of the lakes he cherished and the lives he enriched.
