James Joseph "JJ" Veitz

James Joseph “JJ” Veitz, 24, of Levittown, PA, was called home to be together again with his mother and the lord on December 11, 2020.  JJ’s sudden passing was caused by an undiagnosed brain aneurysm.

JJ was welcomed into this world on April 11, 1996 at Abington Memorial Hospital by his proud parents Joseph A. and the late Eleanor K. Veitz along with his only sibling, his sister, Shannon.   JJ is survived by his precious three-year-old daughter, Lianna Marie Veitz; his adoring father, Joseph A. Veitz; his loving girlfriend of seven years, Amber L. Greer; his sister, Shannon (Edwin) Thompson; his niece Alicia; his nephew Brandon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

JJ and his parents, originally from the Academy Gardens section of Philadelphia moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania when JJ was four years old.  JJ attended George Washington Elementary School from kindergarten through grade six where his ball of fire personality and bright smile are still fondly remembered by many of his teachers there, he went on to Neil Armstrong Middle School and then to Center for Student Learning Charter School where he graduated in 2014.  Thereafter, JJ worked part-time retail jobs while learning the trade of carpentry which would later become his primary occupation.  JJ learned everything he knew about the trade from the best of the best, his father, Joseph.

JJ was always filled with excitement and he was fearless with everything he did.  He always showed the utmost respect to people, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help somebody when asked, no matter what the task at hand. JJ had a small tight-knit group of friends that were very devoted to one another, more like a small family.  When JJ wasn’t spending time with his family, playing video games or tinkering with a project he was working on in the driveway, most times you would find him with his close group of friends along with his daughter, father and girlfriend sitting around a bonfire in the yard enjoying time together.  JJ will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

As an organ donor, The Veitz & Thompson families would like to acknowledge that JJ gave the most precious gift anyone could give; the gift to save the lives of others through The Gift of Life Donor Program.

Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.  Interment will be held privately.

Keeping with CDC guidelines, and at the request of the family, social distancing and masks are mandated indoors and outdoors at all times.
