James A Colella

January 26, 1951 — October 12, 2021

James A. Colella of Levittown, PA, died on Tuesday, October 12,2021 at his home. He was 70.

Jim was born on January 26, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Anna G. (Eichorn) Colella and was a resident of Levittown for 66 years.

Jim was a 1968 graduate of Bishop Egan High School and was proud of his accomplishments both on and off the baseball field. In 1972, he graduated with honors from Lasalle University. Shortly thereafter, Jim began working for H.L. Gallagher Paving and retired from Bramarq Construction in 2013. He spent the remainder of his life devoted to his wife and family and to being “Pop” to his grandchildren.

Known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, he was sure to keep you laughing (or shaking your head) and was sure to put a smile on your face. Jim was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and had an infinite love for baseball. He spent most of his young-adult life playing softball and could most definitely be found on the sidelines “quietly” cheering on his daughter’s teams. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by many.

Jim was the faithful and loving husband of the late Doris (Nelson) Colella and is survived by his three daughters Julie Davis (John), Katie Reese (Michael), Lauren Markulec (Michael) and his four grandchildren Henry, Eli, Cameron, and Mason. Jim is also survived by his brothers John Colella (Barbara), Robert Colella (Linda), Gregory Colella (Deb) and his sister Virginia Glatzer (Robert). He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Colella (Mary Theresa).
