George "Bob" Hammer

March 22, 1934 — November 25, 2022

George Robert “Bob” Hammer of Levittown, PA, beloved husband of 63 years to Mary (Henry) Hammer, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the age of 88. Born in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Mary Frankhauser.  Bob worked over 30 years on the railroad at the US Steel Mill in Fairless Hills, PA working his way up to engineer.  After retiring, he worked in the paint department at Builder’s Square in Langhorne PA.

Bob was a wonderful family man.  He loved taking his children to Washington Crossing State Park for ice skating and sledding.  He had a great sense of humor, loved playing tricks on his family, friends and his nurses.  Bob loved to travel; visiting all 50 states, many countries, and islands.  His favorite place to visit was Aruba returning at least once a year for the last 23 years.  His hobbies included ice skating, golfing, fishing, swimming, and dancing.

Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bristol PA (1160) and the Falls Township Senior Center in Fairless Hills PA where he loved to attend the dances and holiday parties.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, his three children Nellie Plummer, Jeffrey (Valerie) Hammer and Delane (Kevin) Cachia; his grandchildren Paul and Nolyn Hammer; his sister by love, Audrey Rubis, his family from Johnstown PA Karol Domonkas, Sis (Mike) Strushenski, Agnes Frankhauser and Gladys Haupt, Dan Rubis,  his special niece Cindie (Dave) Berkey, Carroll Keister, Annamarie and Eric and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Bob was preceded in death by his sons-in-law Ron Branson and Rich Plummer, his brother by love Joe Rubis and his cousin Joe Frankhauser. The Hammer family greatly appreciated Bob’s Home Health Team Ed, Dana, and Jason as well as their very helpful neighbors, friends, and church family.

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, December 2, 2022, from 5 – 7 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown PA 19057. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 am, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 1700 Makefield Road, Yardley PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
