On September 28th, 2023, Gennaro "Jerry" Ferraro passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 18th, 1943, he was a standout athlete and baseball player at Bristol High School. During the Vietnam War, he bravely served in the 1st Cavalry Division, working as a gunner and tunnel rat, and earned numerous medals, including the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Jerry met his beloved wife, Colette, at Edinboro University before embarking on a decades-long teaching career in the Parkland School District. Together, they nurtured and raised two wonderful children, Andrew and Jeffrey Ferraro. He is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Anna and Ethan Ferraro and his sisters, Mary Ann Krumm, Dolores Cascarino, Genevieve Waltz, and Christine Daniels (Ray). Jerry was grateful for the opportunity to influence so many students and cherished his job as well as the affection of the community. He loved his family above all else and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Funeral service will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
