Eugene "Gene" Rizzo

November 6, 1940 — February 5, 2021

Eugene who liked to be called Gene passed away at his home Friday, February 5, 2021.  He was 80.  Gene was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided for some 18 years in Tacony.  Gene was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne E. Rizzo (nee: Carr).  He is survived by his two sisters Bernadette Ruggiero (Joseph), Celeste Cline (Raymond), nieces and nephews Michele, Jacqueline, John, Joseph, Sara Ruggiero, and Evelyn, Raymond, Gina, Maria and Shannon Cline and many great nieces and great nephews.  Son of the late Eugene and Ida (nee: Perry) Rizzo.  Gene was a profession musician, composer and arranger.  He also authored many books on music techniques published with Hal Leonard. Gene always attributed his talents to his father who also was a musician and taught him from a young age the beauty of music.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Ann Church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sam’s Hope, 901 E. Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.  Sam’s Hope is dedicated to saving lives of companion animals keeping them out of shelters and with their families.

Keeping with CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks are mandated indoors and outdoors.
