Ethel Faye Gable, born on June 21, 1933, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Rivers Edge Nursing Home in Philadelphia, PA. Ethel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Surrounded by loved ones in her final moments, she leaves behind a loving legacy that will forever be remembered.
Ethel's life was one characterized by warmth and affection. She made it a point to tell each family member, "I Love you," before parting company, a testament to her deep caring nature. Her children, Deborah McGinley (William), Gary Graves (Priscilla), Dan Graves, Donna Thompson (Thomas), and Carol Henigan (John), along with her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, will hold on to these cherished sentiments as they navigate their lives without her.
Ethel often delighted her family with stories of her childhood spent in North Carolina, tales that were met with smiles and laughter, creating memories for generations to come. One of her great joys in life was spending time at Parx Casino as well as the casinos in Atlantic City, where she loved playing the slots.
An enthusiastic member of the Wissinoming Yacht Club alongside her late husband, Gabe, Ethel found joy in boating and spent countless weekends cruising the Delaware River. Together, they made lasting memories with friends, attending events and enjoying the camaraderie that life on the water brought.
Ethel will be profoundly missed not only by her family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Pickard, and her siblings, George (Bucky) Pickard, John Pickard, Albert Pickard, and Kenneth Pickard.
Her life was an embodiment of love, community, and joy, qualities that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Ethel Faye Gable's spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her family and friends, a reminder of the importance of love and togetherness.
