Emily Westerman, 18, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2022. She was born to Shauna Goldey (Mike) and Jim Westerman (Val) and in Levittown, Pennsylvania on April 6th, 2004. Emily graduated from Bucks County Technical High School in June of 2022. She was planning to become a trauma nurse and had a huge heart for helping others.
She will be sorely missed by her sweet and unique collection of brothers and sisters. Alyssa, Jimmy, Michael, Joslyn, Julia, Colin, Jayden, Sean, Nolan, Addison, Lyla, Ella, and Leighton will never forget you. You will always be part of them, and they will carry your spirit forward as they move through their lives, always remembering the special bond of family and how you cherished that bond ever since you were a little girl.
There are too many grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends to name, but know that Emily cherished each one of you. Each of us will take care of your mom, dad, brothers, and sisters and help them through this difficult time. Your heart of gold led you to starting your professional work life teaching preschoolers at Hope Lutheran Pre-School in Levittown, PA. They don’t know it yet, but they will be forever grateful for the impact you had on their lives and will remember you as their smiling, funny friend, and mentor.
Your parents love you and were so looking forward to knowing the young woman into whom you were growing. They are proud of you; you will always be with them, and they will miss you each and every day. They will be there for all your brothers and sisters. They will make sure they understand how much you loved them for all their days.
Dearest Emily, in your short life you have left behind so many people that loved you and would give anything for one more minute to hear your laugh or see your smile. How can we say goodbye to a ray of emerging starlight or a flame that has just began to burn? Everyone will miss you and this world will be a little less bright without you in it. However, we know that every candle that goes out in this life shines bright like a dawn sun blazing through a blue horizon in the next. We know you are now everywhere and can draw on your light whenever it is needed.
Emily, when you get to heaven say hello to Granny, Pop, and your best buddy Matt for us. Take their hands and tell them we love and miss them. They will watch over you until the day we all meet again.
Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, December 30, 2022, from 9:30 – 11:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA 19047. Funeral mass will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
