Elizabeth Shema

Elizabeth Shema of Levittown passed away at home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94.

Betty was born in Pershore England on September 13, 1927; she was the youngest of 5 children. She met her American husband, John, when he was stationed in England during WWII. They married in Pershore on November 17, 1945; she joined him in the US in 1946, one of a legion of war brides.

They moved to Levittown in 1953, where they raised 4 children.

She was predeceased by her husband John, son Bill and grandson Matt, as well as by all her siblings.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Bain (late Richard), sons Dan (Julie) and Jack, grandchildren Dan, Michele, Mike, Kristin, Lauren, Ryan, and Rhiannon, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 6 – 8 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. 

The family requests that you wear a mask.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
