Edwina J Roepke

May 25, 1938 — September 17, 2021

Edwina “Winnie” Janice (Robson) Roepke passed away on September 17th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a hard-fought battle with her second bout of cancer.

Born on May 25, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, Winnie was the daughter of the late Edwin John and Grace (Wilsey) Robson.  Winnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Harry,” son Henry “Fred,” sister Harriet, granddaughter Jennilynne “Jenni,” niece, Patricia “Pat” and very dear friend Mary.

At the age of 7, after the sudden death of her mother, Winnie and her younger sister went to live in the Presbyterian Children’s Village in Philadelphia.  Later they moved to the Logan section of Philadelphia, where Winnie met and married Harry and subsequently moved to Levittown 63 years ago.  Winnie has lived in the same family home which she and Harry shared since 1960.

Winnie worked as Garth Pitcairn’s administrative assistant sharing time between Pitcairn Oldsmobile in Langhorne and Pitcairn Volkswagen in Morrisville until Mr. Pitcairn’s passing 16 years later.  Winnie also was a data entry operator / control room operator for CGW/Data Scan located in Langhorne and later Bensalem until her retirement 20 years later.

Winnie enjoyed her retirement years very much as she would watch after her 3 great-grandsons with whom she always said, “kept her feeling very young at heart.”

Winnie leaves behind to mourn her passing, her loving children, Suzanne “Sue” (Kent) and Charles (Luz), dear friends Lynne and Susan as well as her entire Church family.

Winnie was the loving grandmother of Jennilynne “Jenni” (Brian), Jessica “Jes” (Ryan), Charles “Charlie,” Eric and Angela “Angie” and great-grandmother of Dante, Evan, and Kyle.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ United Methodist Church located at 501 Wister Road in Fairless Hills, PA.  Funeral service/interment will be private.  Winnie will be laid to rest, in peace and free from suffering alongside Harry and Fred in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.

Winnie leaves the following message to her family, friends, and neighbors: “Don’t cry for me – I’m in good hands.”
