Edward A. Sangmeister

July 19, 1935 — January 21, 2021

Edward A. Sangmeister of Bensalem, PA passed away on January 21st, 2021 at the age of 85. Ed was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and a 1953 graduate of Roman Catholic High School. After serving as a member of the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 in Germany, he began his draftsman career for the Army as a civilian at the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia, PA. He continued his work as a draftsman for the Naval Air Propulsion Center in Trenton, NJ before changing careers and moving to the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, PA as a Safety Specialist. After retirement he decided to obtain his CDL and became a bus driver for the Bensalem School District for several years before retiring a second time.

During his time at Arsenal he met his wife, Diana, and they were married on February 4th, 1967. They eventually established their young family in Bensalem in 1970. Ed and Diana enjoyed raising their three sons and spent many memorable family day trips to wherever, weekends camping and a very entertaining cross country trip in the family station wagon. Later in life, Ed truly enjoyed his time with his family and friends storytelling and reminiscing.

Ed was the proverbial "planes, trains and automobiles" man and thoroughly enjoyed his time flying as a private pilot, playing with toy trains or riding the real ones and tinkering with cars and motorcycles.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Agnes Sangmeister and his wife of 49 years Diana Sangmeister, brother in laws Charles Kluge and Donald Everett.  Ed will be greatly missed by his children Edward Sangmeister, his wife Dawn and their children Grace and Rebecca, Gary Sangmeister and his children Jacob and Abigail, David Sangmeister and his children Joslyn, Jayden and Calvin. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings Agnes Kluge, Charles Sangmeister and his wife Lana, Michael Sangmeister and his wife Joan, as well as his in-laws, Keith and Sherry Everett and Denise Everett, and his many, many, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10 - 11 am at St Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.  Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow Resurrection Cemetery.
