Dr. Dominick DiNunzio, 90, of Levittown, PA died Monday, December 6, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Bristol, he was the son of Anthony and Maria R. Minni DiNunzio and was married to Helen Mae Appleton for 68 years. Dominick received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology from Millersville University, his Master of Education from Rutgers University, and his Doctor of Philosophy from Waldon University. Dominick DiNunzio began teaching and coaching following his service in the U.S. Army in France. He embarked on an impressive career with Pemberton Township School District in New Jersey in 1960, from which he retired as Assistant Superintendent. In addition to being an active member of the Millersville University Alumni Association, including previously serving as board president and his current participation in numerous committees, Dominick had volunteered with Pemberton Rotary Club, Free Mason Affiliations, and Sons of Italy in America. He was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary Club), the Legion of Honor (Chapel of Four Chaplains), Outstanding Service Award (MUAA), and the Distinguished Service Award (MUAA). Dominick gave generously of his time and talent to Millersville University for decades. He established the Lewis Hobbs Foundation on campus, recognizing Lewis Hobbs as one of the founders of Millersville Normal School. Lewis Hobbs was the grandfather of Dominick’s wife, Helen Mae. In 1973 he was awarded the Outstanding Secondary Educator of America Award and in 1982 he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Waldon University. He also was instrumental in hosting numerous reunions for Bristol High School. In addition to his wife, Dominick is survived by his children: Dominick and his wife Deborah of Quarryville, Mark and his wife Susan of Lititz, Douglas of Levittown, and Celeste Hartzell and her husband Edward of Levittown, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers: Dr. Lewis DiNunzio and his wife Joann and Dr. John DiNunzio and his wife Connie. One uncle survives: Dominick Minni and his wife Jean as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States and Italy. Dominick was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Levittown where services will be held. Family and Friends are invited to gather Friday, December 17, from 9 – 10:30 am at 5918 Bristol Emilie Road, Levittown PA. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am.
