Donna Mae Pierce Bongart, born on December 28, 1949, in Atlantic City, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She led a life dedicated to service, marked by her many years as a Health Room Technician at John Fitch Elementary, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic, and Conwell-Egan Catholic High School, where she touched the lives of countless children and families with her compassion and care.
Some of Donna’s favorite volunteer projects included coordinating the 9/11 Mass with local hometown heroes and the annual Giving Tree celebration at her parish.
A proud veteran, Donna served in the Air Force, exemplifying her commitment to her country and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, reflecting her deep love for family and friends.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Alexander Bongart, as well as her cherished children, Mary Brennan (Brian), Carl Pierce (Jen), and Stacy Pierce. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth.
If you knew Donna, she would likely engage you in a conversation about her grandchildren. Her home was adorned with their pictures, and her heart was filled with their love. Whether it was the annual backyard egg hunt, a birthday celebration, a special lunch, or a walk down Main Street in Disney World, Brian Jr., Nicholas, Savannah, and Karleigh will forever carry their own special memories of their Mom Mom.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Dorothy Gross (McElwee), who instilled in her the values of hard work and compassion that defined her life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Galzerano Funeral Home located at 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA. Following the visitation, an inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
Donna will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her passion for helping others, and the love she so freely gave to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
