Donna Maria Cornwell

February 20, 1946 — July 21, 2022

On July 21st, 2022, we lost our mother, Donna Maria Cornwell.

Donna Maria Lewandowski was born on February 20th, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA.

Donna married David Cornwell and moved to Croydon Pennsylvania to start her new life.

Donna and David would build their own house at night while working during the day. They would stay with David’s mother until their own home was built.

In June of 1969, Deborah Cornwell was born and in October of 1970, Darren Cornwell was born.

Donna would become a school bus driver for Bristol township.

She enjoyed her profession for she would get to enjoy the smiles of the children she drove. Donna would sadly retire from her profession early due to knee replacements.

Donna was proud of her Polish heritage and would tell you that.

She loved watching the mummer’s day parade all day long whenever they marched.

Donna was also a proud fan of the King, Elvis Presley.

She often traveled to Port Richmond every year at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter for Kielbasa and Stocks pound cake.

Donna also loved cooking and baking.

Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved decorating the whole house for the holiday and wouldn’t take any of the decorations down until little Christmas had passed.

The holidays were always a treat when you stopped by or were invited over for the holidays. The table was full of food and all the chairs taken with guests. Everyone always had leftovers to take home with them of homemade food. Donna loved having a full house for the holidays because she was all about family.

Donna was a very caring person and overly generous to the point of being taken advantage of.

She only saw the good in people and the world.  As my father would say: “You see the world in rose-colored glasses.”

Donna loved gardening and flowers, especially roses. By the back door of her home, there was a garden and always filled with flowers that she would plant every year.

About 20 years or so ago, Donna fought colon cancer and won.  Recently it came back and spread.

Donna is survived by her son Darren and his wife Maria with their children Joey and Kayla, her daughter Deborah, and her granddaughter Laura whom she adored and loved as much as life.

Our mother was a light in the world. Always spreading her joy and smile and never complaining.

Donna will be missed eternally by all who knew her especially by her family.

We love you mom.
