Cheryl A. Buckland

April 17, 1959 — January 16, 2024

Cheryl A. (Miller) Buckland, of Levittown, PA passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. She was born on April 17, 1959, in Buffalo, New York to Jack P. Miller and Gloria A. Miller, the oldest of their three children.

Cheryl was a devoted wife to Skip for over 46 years. In that time, they welcomed four children and seven grandchildren to their family and built a beautiful life together in Pennsylvania. Family always came first for Cheryl. Her kids were the light in her life, and she absolutely cherished her grandchildren. She was a mild mannered, quiet force, the bedrock that our family was built on and the glue that held it together. She was a knowledgeable, detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic and a caring heart. All traits that she instilled in her children. Her sense of humor really shined through for those who were close to
her.

Her home was always meticulously decorated for the holidays. In particular, the bay window in the front of her house was diligently decorated with the same care and attention to detail that you would see in large, city storefronts. If she were still with us, she would be decorating for Valentine’s Day. While she enjoyed traveling to new places on vacation, nothing brought her more joy than to go and visit family, especially her two daughters, who both live outside of Pennsylvania and her mother who lives in New York.

If her children had a sporting event, dance recital, band, or chorus concert, she was there. As her family grew and they began lives of their own, she could be found on the sidelines of her grandchildren’s sporting events cheering them on.

She loved being outside once the weather started to warm. She really enjoyed gardening. If she were in the yard, there was a very good chance that she would be mulching, planting, or weeding the many flower beds in her yard. Once the work of the day was done, she could be found sitting with Skip under their gazebo recapping the events of the day and their plans for the next day.

Cheryl and Skip were inseparable. They were not only wife and husband, but they were also best friends. When Skip suddenly passed two months ago, it left a hole in all our hearts. With Cheryl’s passing, that hole became a crater. While we sit here broken, struggling to see a path forward without them, leaning on each other to get through this, there is comfort in knowing that they have each other to do the same.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Lee R. “Skip” Buckland Jr. and father Jack P. Miller.

Cheryl is survived by her children: John Buckland (Bethann), Jason Buckland (Diane), Jennifer Dozier (Josh), and Jacqueline Heaning (Eric); her grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Kevin, Erin, Andrew, Joey, Ryan, Elizabeth, and Bridget; her mother: Gloria Miller; her siblings: Gregory Miller Sr. and Michael Miller; her father-in-law: Lee Buckland Sr., her mother-in-law: Nancy Buckland; her sisters-in-law: LuAnn Henry (Robert), Lisa Foster (Tim), brother-in-law: Larry Buckland (Mary); countless nieces and nephews, and her dog Miya.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, January 22 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, January 23 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road Levittown, PA 19057.
