He was also great grandfather to Alex and Dylan Amadio. His grandchildren enjoyed many sleepovers and family dinners with Pop-Pop at his home in Torresdale Manor, Bensalem PA where he lived for over 50 years. Ben was well-loved by his nieces and nephews and was also “Uncle Ben” to many relatives, neighbors, and family friends. Ben was a skilled craftsman and spent his working years in construction as site superintendent on many building sites such as churches, schools, apartment buildings and airports in the Philadelphia area. Bernard served in the Army Infantry in World War II as a mortar gunner in the 79th Division, 315th Regiment, Company G from the landing on Utah Beach to crossing of the Rhine and into Czechoslovakia and was awarded a Bronze Star.
