Assunte "Susie" Hesson

On Monday, May 27, 2024, the world lost a true angel on earth as Assunte "Susie" Hesson (nee: Plebani) passed away in Bristol, PA, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
 
Susie was born on May 6, 1947, in Trenton, NJ, to her parents Assunte and Joseph Plebani. She was known for her unwavering faith in God that guided her through life. Susie's infectious smile and love for life touched everyone she met. Her career as a pharmacy technician at Jefferson Bucks Hospital spanned an incredible 56 years until she was forced to retire in 2021 due to the Covid virus. Her work family became her second family, and she continued to volunteer one day a week post-retirement because helping others was not just a job for her; it was her life's purpose.
 
Susie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph Hesson. She is also survived by her daughters Michelle Walcott (Fred) and Mandy Hesson (Steve). Susie will be dearly missed by her brothers Michael Plebani (Kathy) and Vincent Plebani (Sherri). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Christopher Hathaway (Stephanie), Marc Messenger (Jamie), Brianna Ziegelhofer (Mike), Steven Mosco, Devon Hathaway, Connor Hathaway (Destyni), as well as her great-grandchildren Hayden, Weston, Keelan, Callie, and Hudson.
 
In addition to her immediate family, Susie leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that extended to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She held dear memories of her brothers John Plebani, Joseph Plebani Jr., sister Rose Restiano, and numerous other relatives and friends.
 
Susie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her best. However, the memories of her selflessness, compassion, and radiant personality will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for all who were privileged to have been part of her circle.

Family and friends are invited to gather Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024, from 6 – 8 pm and again Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, from 8:30 – 9:45 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.  Funeral mass will be held at St Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007 at 10:30 am.  Interment will follow at St Mark Cemetery under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
