May 2, 1948 — May 30, 2023

Adele A. Sobusiak, 75, passed into the loving and comforting arms of her Lord and Savior on May 30, 2023, after a brief stay at Crestwood Center in Langhorne. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice Sobusiak

A lifelong resident of Croydon, Adele attended St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School and Bishop Egan High School, graduating in 1966.

Shortly after graduating high school, she went to work for the Internal Revenue Service in Philadelphia. Starting out as a key punch operator, she worked her way up to the taxpayer customer service department, retiring after 37 years of service.

While employed at the IRS, Adele was an ardent supporter and volunteer for the Disability Ability Awareness Program, helping to hold fundraisers and other events to benefit the Special Olympics and other organizations for the physically and mentally handicapped.

Adele’s kindness and compassion for the sick and suffering knew no bounds. After her retirement from the IRS, she served as a volunteer for Odyssey Hospice in area nursing homes, providing solace, and comforting words to the terminally ill. In 2012, she was recognized as hospice Volunteer of the year.

When she became disabled and homebound, Adele continued to help people by serving as a volunteer for the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
