Bruce Thompson

Bruce D. Thompson of Levittown passed away peacefully on December 17, 2010 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. Bruce was born in Phila., and lived his entire life in Bucks County Bruce served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and established many friends and dedicated customers during his 40+ years as the owner/operator of Bruce D. Thompson Painting. Bruce was an extremely hard worker, avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and woodworker; and enjoyed spending time at the racetrack with his friend Freddy. Bruce was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, and he most enjoyed the frequent times spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Elwood and Edith (nee: Scott); and his brother Elwood. Bruce will be sadly missed by his adoring wife, and constant companion of 34 years, Alice (nee: Herrschaft). Also left to cherish his memory are his eight children Debbie Bosdosh and her husband Steve, Bruce and his wife Geri, Kim Preston and her husband Dan, Joe and his wife Michelle, Brian and his wife Julie, Mark and his wife Margo, Scott, and Brad. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; a brother Roland; and a sister Diane. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who enjoyed his company, great sense of humor, and friendship. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tues., 7-9pm, and Wed., 8-8:45am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown. A funeral service will be held 9:30am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Rd., Fallsington. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
