Bernice DeAngelis

d. November 7, 2010

Bernice Margaret DeAngelis (nee: Weed), age 81, of Bensalem, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010, at the St. Mary Hospital in Langhorne surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a long-time resident of Bristol Boro before moving to Bensalem in 1981. She was active in politics and was a former Judge of Elections at the 5th Ward polling station in Bristol Boro. She, along with her husband, ran the bingo concession at Station 25 Firehouse in Bristol for over 18 years. She was also a member of the Artisans Philly 1 and Golden Artisans both in Philadelphia, the American Legion Post 120 Ladies Auxiliary, and a founding member of Gibson Road Antique Fire Association. Bernice believed in, and collected, angels and all things pertaining to angels. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially trips to the casino; but most of all she loved spending time with her husband and family. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Walter, and Gerard Weed; and her sisters Marie Nejman and Patricia Baronowski. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 64 years Joseph M. DeAngelis; her children Diane Thackray (John) of Millville, PA, Joseph M. DeAngelis (Kathy) of Westfield, PA, Ronald DeAngelis (Rita) of Bristol, PA, and Carole DeAngelis Miller (Robert) of Silverdale, PA; her adoring grandchildren James Brogel, John Thackray, Kristen DeAngelis, Miranda James (Carlos), Alexander DeAngelis (Amanda), Gentilina Miller, Robert Miller, and Brandin DeAngelis; and great grandchildren Katlyn, Natalina, Bryson, Kendahl, and Aidan; and her dog Angel. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Philip DeAngelis (Jane), and John DeAngelis (Helen); sister-in-law Nancy DeAngelis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, 6-9pm, and Sat., 9-10am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sat., 10:30am, at St. Ephrem Church in Bensalem. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Eastern PA Chapter, 225 City Avenue, Ste. 104, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. The DeAngelis family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Mary Hospital. Each member demonstrated their professionalism through their skills and knowledge; but it was their kindness, understanding, and compassion that we felt the most. The words “thank you” would never be enough. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Bernice DeAngelis, please visit our flower store.
