Joseph Leon Klemczak Sr., age 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he has been a resident of Bristol Township since 1933. During WWII, Mr. Klemczak was a Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. After the war, he was employed at Baden Hausen until he, along with his wife, founded Klemczak’s Market in 1952; which he operated until 2009. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the V.F.W. Terchon Post. He was a hard-working businessman who helped many less fortunate people who came to his grocery store. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Judi. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years Elizabeth “Bette” Klemczak (nee: Smith); his devoted children Joseph Jr. of Lehighton, PA, Sue Hackman and her husband John of Yardley, Mike and his wife Annie of Langhorne, and Theresa Veneziale and her husband Tony of Springfield Township, NJ. He will be greatly missed by his adoring grandchildren Jessie, Jamie, Joey, Jake, Jenna, Samantha, Holly, Andi, Marissa, Alex, and Julia; and great grandsons Dominick, Jayden, and Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call this evening from 6-8pm and tomorrow from 8-9:15am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am at Immaculate Conception Church in Levittown. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests contributions to the charity of your choice.
