Francis Cool

Francis A. Cool, age 87, of Oxmoor Lodge, Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born and raised in Maryland, Frank was an employee of O’Neil & Company. While working there, he met and married his wife Dorothy, and in 1955 they moved into their new home in Levittown. While here, he was employed as a Supply Buyer for Pomeroy’s until his retirement. He was a WWII Army veteran who served in the Pacific theatre. Mr. Cool was an accomplished baseball player who had the pleasure of playing with Ted Williams while over seas. He was an active member of the Oxford Valley Senior Group, and enjoyed trips to Florida with his wife, brother and sister-in-law. He also loved playing cards and trips to the casino with his wife. He was an avid golfer, bowler and sports fan. He was predeceased by his wife and best friend, Dorothy (nee: Gable) Cool; and his son-in-law Louis Petrecco. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Iris Petrecco of Langhorne, Sandy Cool of Langhorne and Mary Beth Uberti and her husband Bob of Louisville, KY; and his son, Frank Cool of Overland Park, Kansas. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren, Jamie, Chris, Megan, Kelly, Jackie, Kristen, Louis, Morgan and Brian; and his great grandson, Cullen. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Cool and his wife Helen; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, 9-10am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
