Gregory H. Benson

Gregory H. Benson (Brother Jude), age 88, of Levittown, PA, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Lower Bucks Hospital. Born in Cambridge, Mass., he resided in Malden, Mass. for many years; later settling in this area where he was one of the original homeowners. After an active military service with the Army Air Corps. during the 1940’s, he was honorably discharged and went to work as a Systems Analyst for the U.S. Government Veteran’s Administration until his retirement in 1976. He was one of the original parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church and was an active member of their Holy Name Society, as well as a former Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Benson was past Grand Knight of the Bristol Knights of Columbus Lodge 1169 and a member of the St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus. Greg, a professed Franciscan, was a member of the Legion of Mary where he held the office President of the Curia of Bucks County. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Peggy of over 50 years; and by his beloved daughter Karen. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Trish and her husband Merritt of Fairless Hills, Cathie and her husband Randy of Levittown, and Mary and her husband Larry of Levittown; his adoring grandchildren Jennifer, Christie, Coleen, T.J., Johnny, Monica, Vince, and Michelle; and 10 loving great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Dorothy of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sat., 9-10:30am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd. in Levittown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
