Ann Bakelaar

Ann D. Bakelaar (nee: DiIanni-Deon), age 80, peacefully passed away on Nov. 20, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Bristol Boro and was a graduate of St. Ann School and later attended business school. She was instrumental in starting the beer business in back of their residence with her brother. She worked as a Secretary for the Frankford Arsenal and Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce. Later, she met and married the love of her life Edward, and together they resided in Yardley, and owned and operated Cold Springs Beverage. Ann was very proud, and was an active member of St. Ann Church assisting as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at Mass where she will be especially missed by her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Vincenzo and Maria (nee: DiLorenzo) DiIanni; her brothers Frank, Charles and Pasquale; sisters Rose Valenti, Carrie Cicerchia and Lillian Cocci and her husband Edward Bakelaar. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Vincentine “Jean” Deon and Ann Mae Deon; many nieces, nephews; especially her caregiver Madeline Genco and her husband Frank; and her cousins and family in Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tues. 7-9pm and Wed. 8:30-9:30am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe St., Bristol Boro. Funeral Mass will begin 10am at St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in Bristol Cemetery. In keeping with her love of St. Ann Church, donations in her memory may be made to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA 19007.
