Dorothy Paglione - Rapp

Dorothy Paglione-Rapp, 89, of Bristol passed away on August 19, 2017. Dorothy was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Benedetto and Assunta Francavilla. Dorothy moved to Bristol in 1946 to marry her husband, Dominick Paglione, and has been a proud Bristolian all her life. She is predeceased by Dominick as well as her second husband, Richard Rapp. She always felt fortunate to have shared love with two wonderful husbands. Dorothy was the Valedictorian of Bishop McDevitt High School and worked as a teacher, bank teller, and telephone operator while raising her five children. She was the owner and operator of the SeaKist Motel in Wildwood, New Jersey, where she hosted guests and friends with a smile, her wonderful humor, kindness, perpetual energy and grace. Dorothy enjoyed preparing food for her family and friends. Everyone looked forward to and knew they were welcomed at her Christmas night party. Dorothy enjoyed dining out, reading, and shopping – which was always reflected in her stylish wardrobe. She was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She attended church every morning and enjoyed breakfast with Father Mooney and her friends in the “Breakfast Club.” Dorothy was fortunate to have many friends who always offered a helping hand. She will be remembered by many as “a beautiful and special lady.” She will be sadly missed by her five children and their spouses, Elaine and Frank Flatch; Stephen and Mary Jane (Potena); Darcy and Kevin Dougherty; Nick and Jackie (Velli); and Marie Burton. Dorothy was an amazing mentor and an integral part of her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren’s lives. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm and again Friday, August 25, 2017 8:30-9:30 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions in her memory to St. Mark Catholic Church, Bristol, PA or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
