Eric L Barber, Jr.

August 9, 1941 — June 27, 2017

Eric L. Barber Jr. of Bristol left this world peacefully on Tuesday evening at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. He was 75. Born in Bristol and raised in Parkland. He was a past member of the Newportville Fire Company Station 12. Eric worked as a welder and delivery driver for Wemco Inc. and A C Grinding & Supply Co. until his retirement then pursued a position as a van driver for Bristol Township School District Teamsters Union Local No. 115. Eric enjoyed fishing, trips to the shore, listening to country music but his most passionate love was NASCAR Auto Racing and in his earlier years he competed at many of the local racetracks like the Langhorne Speedway. At the racetracks he was known as Eric “Redds” Barber because of his red hair and fiery temper. He is preceded in death by his parents Eric L. Barber Sr. and Mae V. Wilson (Campbell), his beloved wife Lucille F. Barber (Schramm), sister Mary Jane Burton and brother Joseph (Chuck) Barber “Tweety”. Eric will be greatly missed by his son Eric W. Barber, sisters Louise Howells (Rodger), Debbie Phelan (Chris) and Brenda Yeager (Fred), fiancé Violet McCloskey, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday July 8, 2017 from 11am-1pm at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.
