Jeanne E Rizzo

October 24, 1944 — June 19, 2017

Jeanne E. Rizzo (nee Carr) of the Tacony Section of Philadelphia passed away on Tuesday, June 19th, with her loving husband at her side at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 72. She was a proud “Galloping Ghost,” graduating from Abington High School in 1962, after which she became a trusted and diligent bookkeeper and manager. Her skills contributed to the building of a successful family business in Southampton that endures to this day. Her work ethic persisted throughout her life, earning her promotions and increased responsibility at the many companies and businesses with whom she worked. She lovingly shared these skills with her husband Gene, working alongside him as his business manager, editor and publicist as he compiled, wrote and published numerous books on music and musicians. Her love of music and art was a theme throughout her life, but it was not limited to admiring the work of others. She was graced with a talent for pen and ink sketching that she shared with friends and family. Her life was enriched by the companionship of her beloved dog, Dash, one of many canine friends she cared for throughout her life. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Eugene F. Rizzo, her daughters Laura (Joe) Atkinson of Haddonfield, NJ, Christine (Mike) Gricco of Manahawkin, NJ, Amy Stith of Jamison, PA, Jacelyn Grow of Lansdale, PA, Julia Grow of Perkasie, PA and 10 grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her daughter Renea, her parents, William and Genevieve (Taylor) Carr, her two siblings, Janice and William Jr. (Mary) of Warrington and her former husband, Robert M. Grow, Jr., of Southampton. Visitation for family and friends will be at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, Pennsylvania at 10:00 am on Friday, June 23, followed by a brief service at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation (www.stmaryfoundation.net) to honor the dedicated and skilled doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU.
